- Improve your building knowledge – A stronger understanding of the basics of “building science”, i.e.
building details critical to energy efficiency, comfort, durability, and indoor air quality, along with the
most important elements of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) will help attendees to
provide higher quality inspection findings and reports for home buyers. - Strengthen your knowledge of the energy code – There are up to seven possible pathways for
homebuilders to comply with the energy code. Increase your understanding of the possible pathways
to more accurately call out when there are code related deficiencies in the homes you inspect.
Gain an understanding of required tests and inspections – Learn which energy efficiency tests &
inspections are required by code, how they are performed and who is responsible for completing them. - Become more familiar with Energy Efficient Programs – Learn about HERS, ENERGY STAR, and LEED,
what the basic requirements are, and how they align with the energy codes.
“The class Daran teaches is excellent. No question, he is the most knowledgeable speaker we could get on building science, energy audits, etc.” You might run this by Tony and allow him to update or modify, or just go with this. Should definitely help drive attendance!” – Tony Hecht, Arizona ASHI ACI Home Inspector
