Senior /Master
Inspector Program
There is no better way to test and improve your inspection
skills than to participate in the AZ ASHI Senior/ Master Inspector Program!
The program is available to all chapter members who meet the
minimum requirements -- see the Requirements or
Application page.
All who have participated in this program enjoyed it, and all agree that it is a
great learning experience!
Don’t be embarrassed-- the program is fun and educational!!
Here’s how the
Senior Inspector designation works.
A panel of three home inspectors will inspect the house
before you do. They will compile a list of “Must Find” defects in the house.
You will inspect the home and present your findings to the panel.
The panel will also show you ten photos and ask you ten
general information questions.
You will get points for each defect you find and for each
photo you identify and for each question you correctly answer. There are
points available for the defects you find and for the questions and pictures.
You need 85% to pass.
How much easier can it get?!
You will receive a Senior Inspector pin to wear to the
District and Chapter meetings, a Senior Inspector certificate for your ego wall
and the Senior Inspector designation on the chapter web site upon successful
completion of the test.
The
Master Inspector designation is tougher. First, of course, you
need to be a Senior Inspector. You also need to have contributed to the home
inspector profession in some way, above and beyond being a great inspector. See
the Requirements or
Application page. The test session is similar, but your presentation to
the panel will be more detailed and worth points. You will need 95% to pass.
The Chapter ‘inspect-a-house’ educational sessions have
proven to be some of the most educational and fun events.
This is the same thing, but on a one-to-one level.
See the 'Calendar of Events' page for upcoming Senior
or Master Inspector sessions
